Breaking Changes

  • Node.js 24.11.0 or newer required — Package manifests and Docker images ship Node 24. Managed installs refuse older Node; npm/direct starts on 22/23 only warn.
  • Invalid agent credentials rejected — Failed bearer verification returns 401 with a named cause instead of falling through to an anonymous local-user actor.
  • Company brand color and attachment limit removed — Fields dropped from General page, APIs, and portability manifest (migration 0229). Old export fields are ignored on import.
  • Silent-run detection no longer acts alone — Silence still surfaces in the UI but no longer creates evaluation issues, recovery actions, or wake requests. Stranded-task recovery routes to board-owned actions.
  • Agent thought text out of automatic comments — ACPX run summaries are limited to the final output segment; legacy full-summary settings are ignored.
  • Grok permission-mode default — Grok no longer defaults --permission-mode to dontAsk unless explicitly configured.

Highlights

  • Skill library reaches agents at run time — Every run carries a deterministic manifest of the company skill library; agents can list skills over MCP; installing a skill offers “Enable for agents”.
  • Kimi Code adapter — kimi_local runs Moonshot’s Kimi Code CLI on the shared ACP engine with live streaming and a headless-CLI fallback.
  • Operator visibility controls — NEURO_HIDDEN_SETTINGS hides settings surfaces by key; NEURO_SETTING_DEFAULTS overrides schema defaults without persisting; managed-sandbox-only mode hides host-path surfaces.
  • Sandbox callback bridge rebuilt — Bounded Node HTTP/2 duplex transport with process-owned byte budgets; file-polling relay soft-deprecated; mid-run channel death fails the run closed.
  • Onboarding gets to the point — Mission step removed; wizard opens on creating your agent. Shorter arc with the agent front and center.

Improvements

  • Opt-in Sentry monitoring — Set SENTRY_DSN and install @sentry/node for server and browser capture — fail-open when unset.
  • Company imports land better — De-duplicated names, dashboard CTAs, paused-import agents with Resume, and “Resume all” while imports settle.
  • Settings unified — Company and instance settings share one navigation; user-facing copy says “organization”; hosted tenants get issue prefixes from the org name.

Fixes

  • Sign-up on Better Auth 1.7 — Migration 0230 adds and backfills the issuer column Better Auth expects.
  • Rich text editor and Docker orphans — Lexical tree back to one pinned copy; tini is PID 1 so orphaned processes are reaped.
  • Adapters and task chat — Hermes surfaces real reasoning text; composer clears on send; git workspace sync grafts unrelated histories.

Upgrade Guide

  • Upgrade Node to 24.11.0+ before a source install.
  • Migrations 0223–0230 run on startup.
  • Optional: NEURO_HIDDEN_SETTINGS, NEURO_SETTING_DEFAULTS, SENTRY_DSN, NEURO_WORKSPACE_REAPER_COOLDOWN_DAYS.
  • Note 401s on bad agent tokens, no automatic silent-run recovery, and Grok’s removed implicit dontAsk.
