How we recognize peers
Great work is hard and deserves thoughtful recognition. Generic praise is not enough; meaningful compliments increase courage and quality.
Be authentic
Recognize people because you genuinely feel compelled to highlight their impact, not because you feel obligated.
Be specific
Clarity is kindness. Describe exactly what you observed and experienced. Context-rich compliments are credible and memorable.
Process over results
Highlight the effort, care, creativity, and trade-offs behind outcomes, not only the outcome itself.
Share the impact
Explain how the person's action affected you, the team, customers, or company momentum. Work matters more when impact is visible.
The compliment checklist
- Authentic: why am I recognizing this person?
- Specific: what did I observe?
- Process: what effort enabled the result?
- Impact: how did it affect me or the team?
