How we work

Pattern Automation is remote-first: we build AI-native operations (Neuro OS, agents, integrations) with a team distributed by default. If local hubs appear later, core collaboration still stays remote-oriented.

Remote means defaulting to async communication: RFCs before meetings, Slack channels before stand-ups, and Linear tickets before ad-hoc tasking.

Remote does not mean isolated. We keep overlap in the Americas timezone, run two offsites per year, and switch to sync work when needed (incidents, complex starts, and urgent alignment).

Curiosity over ego

Confidence, conviction, and bravery are valuable. Ego is not. It blocks collaboration, slows innovation, and damages morale.

We practice confident curiosity: be bold enough to share your view, and open enough to learn from other perspectives.

  • Ask before you tell.
  • Be the last to speak.

Challenge the status quo

We are a challenger brand. We continuously question "normal" patterns and ask "why" repeatedly until we reach first principles.

Delight is in the details, and details improve only when teams challenge assumptions instead of following habits.

Communication should engage more than text. In docs we use screenshots, recordings, and code examples.

In internal feedback, we pair opinions with evidence: references, examples, or a short screen recording.

Use the resources available

Do a best-effort self-serve pass before asking a teammate for something already documented or publicly available.

  • Search Slack and Notion before asking.
  • Read the code before asking how a feature works.
  • Use AI for writing help, generic technical questions, and translations.

Everything requires iteration

First attempts are rarely final. Share early, ask for feedback quickly, and improve in loops.

Performance is measured less by first-pass perfection and more by how effectively feedback is requested and incorporated.
